· The Winter
Park Ski Area is one of the largest and is the oldest major Colorado Ski
Resort. The
Resort had 978,539 skier visits during the
2000-2001
ski season.
· There are
approximately 12,000 pillows in the Valley.
Winter Park Resort has less residential pillows when compared to
existing uphill capacity than all the other major destination ski areas,
providing excellent growth and absorption potential.
· Winter Park
sales tax figures were up 7.6% in 2000 over 1999.
· In
Spring of 2000, construction was completed on the first phase of
The Village at Winter Park, a new pedestrian village located at the base of
Winter Park Resort’s slopes.
This phase consists of two buildings which feature 230 luxurious
condominium units and 28,000 sq. ft. of commercial space.
· Pole Creek
Golf Course was rated by Golf Digest as the “#1 Place to Play in
Colorado” in 1996, “Top 75 Public Courses in America” in 1988 and
1990, and “The Best New Public Golf Course in America” in 1985.
· Amtrak’s
Chicago to the West Coast train route runs daily, stopping in nearby
Fraser, making Winter Park Resort the only major ski resort served by
mainline passenger service. Fraser
is one of the fastest growing stops in the U.S.
